8x Magnification Binoculars: These binoculars are used for hunting, safaris, bird watching or general use and sometimes even at big stadiums. 8x binoculars are often used for bird watching, and hunting as they have a wide field of view.
Binoculars with 8x (or 10x) Magnification are general use binoculars, and often fit everyone’s needs.
The field of view is how wide of an area you can see through the lens. Most of the time, lower magnification (such as 8x) binoculars will have a larger field of view. This can make it much easier to actually find your target!
For hunting or bird watching it’s a super powerful configuration because objects are usually much closer to you.
If your main purpose is hunting or bird watching, 8x binocular is an ideal choice due to a wider field of view.
Otherwise, if you think you might want just that little bit of extra power – we would recommend 10x binoculars as they are more powerful and allow you to view objects closer, from greater distances.

Simply stated, binoculars use a series of lenses, elements, and prisms to produce a magnified view of distant people, places, or things.
Using two parallel optical tubes allows you to observe with both eyes open, which is more comfortable and natural than using a spotting scope or telescope—which requires you to keep one eye closed.
Additionally, having both eyes open maintains your depth of field and provides you with a rich and immersive experience where the scene takes on a more lifelike, 3-D appearance.
While we have a large range available here at Coast Photo, it is best to get in touch and we can let you know if the model you are keen on is in stock! And if not, – we can arrange this pretty quickly if we do not happen to have it on hand, our stock changes often to keep things interesting.
